Brick Wall Technique

A friend of mine, Kim, showed me a technique she learned off of Split Coast Stampers and I decided to try it - while Brick Wall takes a little time, it's a very nice effect! Here are the two cards I made using the technique and a link to the tutorial if you'd like to try it too!

And Kim - do you realize you made a Nancy Project? :) For those of you who don't know what a Nancy Project is, it is one that takes a long time and is very detailed! And normally Kim shies away from Nancy Projects!

If you like these stamps, the tulip stamp is from Rubbernecker and the treehouse stamp is from Third Coast.

More Meljen!

I can't get enough of these cute designs. And you know if it has cats, I'm going to love it! Here are two cat designs from Meljen Designs. The cat fishing is using the sketch for this month's challenge for the Paper Wishes card swap. Both cards are using papers from Hot Off the Press (from Paper Wishes).

Digi Stampin'

I've been venturing into the world of digital stamps. Kind of fun - I like that you can size/flip/change the stamps, but I still like the techniques I can use with real rubber too! Here is a card I made with two stamps from Meljen Designs. The flowers came with the word "Family" in the flowers, but I changed it to read "Easter!" Isn't the chick just the cutest thing?

Good Site for Dog and Cat Stamps

I discovered a new site for dog and cat stamps and especially sympathy stamps - Purrs and Pants (www.purrsandpants.com)! Here are two cards I made from their collection. The Rainbow Bridge has a poem that goes along with it. Have a tissue ready when you read it!

What You Can Accomplish in 15 Minutes!

Allow me to step aside from paper crafting for just a little while....I have something to share!

I had an epiphany at Christmas Time this past year. I had decided to make two of the Basic Grey 2010 calendars for the kids, using pictures of the grandkids. It was a relatively small (8x8) all-included kit, so I decided I would work on it upstairs in the bedroom, rather than in my craft room. It would give me something to do while I did my nebulizer treatments, which take about 15 minutes, twice a day. When I finished those two calendars, I realized how much I could get accomplished in just those fifteen minutes!

So, I started thinking, what can I do on a regular basis? I wouldn't be able to do most of my paper crafting, because I need so many things! (I know, I know, but I NEED them!) So I decided to start beading at my little table. Beading doesn't take up much space, and as long as the cat wouldn't get into it, I'd be in good shape!

Well, I've made several projects since Christmas!! Take a look (all but two of these were done after Christmas and one of those was a project that still needed to be finished up - and that was done after Christmas!)

Just look at what you can do fifteen minutes at a time!
