A Great Class with Mitra of Impression Obsession

Sorry I haven't posted much lately - I've been madly working to build my inventory for my first craft show coming up next Saturday 6/19. I went to a class recently and really would like you to see all the things we made. Mitra from Impression Obsession was the guest instructor and the class was sponsored by Stamp and Scrap Nest in Simsbury, CT. The first half of the class we learned all kinds of ways to use impression Obsession's Cover-a-Card stamps - if you haven't seen these yet, they are WONDERFUL background stamps and after taking this class I want more of them!

In this first card, we used a striped stamp. We used a baby wipe to put alternating colors on so you get various colored stripes. Then we used the vine background over top of that - I had never thought of using more than one background! It turns out great! We then stamped the leaves in the corners, and applied the sentiment. Beautiful!

In this next card, we applied a "scratches" background in a light brown. We then added a rose background on top of that. Nice shappy-chic effect!

Next we applied three colors of background ink on a card (to get the shading) and then applied the tree branches stamp over top, and then spritzed with Perfect Pearls mixed with water. Gorgeous!

Then we used the same tree branch background, and made a shaker card - a lot of people named this their favorite! The shaker has bird seed in it!

Last, we used the distressed stripe background again - first using turquoise ink, then turned it 180 degrees and used the purple ink - nice effect!

Finally we made a series of shaker cards. Fun!

All of the cards came out great! It looks like you had a good time. I wish we had more stamping stores down here in Miami. Good Luck with the Craft Show!
