I could use some followers!

I know a bunch of you come out to my blog from places like Facebook and the Paper Wishes Message Board - why not follow my blog so you are notified every time I update with new goodies? Hmm...if I had more followers I might make this a little more interactive!

An Uplifting Week

This has been an uplifting week for two reasons:

First, I got an email last week from one of my friends on the Paper Wishes Message Board, Fabrizio (Fab) Martelluci, that he had sent me something. Out of the blue, no swaps going on, no challenges, he just had seen something he thought I would like and sent it to me. I received it during the week and it was a lovely cat stamp - you know how much I like cats! I will definitely have to pay this forward to another crafter one day! Here is the thank you card I made for Fab, using the stamp. I tried something a little different on this one. I used two different colors of embossing powder - a chocolate brown and a copper. Like the effect?

Then, I was looking at my different blogs and favorite sites, and ran across a notice that Michelle Oatman, a card designer and digital artist, had been in a car accident and Meljen's Designs had created a freebie digital design and was asking people to create cards for Michelle using the design. It is of a donkey, and evidently Michelle raises miniature donkeys. So people are flooding her mailbox with these cute donkey cards.

Just renews your faith in people again to see this happening. What a great hobby we have!

Christmas In July

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at my house already! Time to start making cards for my shop! I finished five sets of four cards this weekend! Whew! I've got stuff EVERYWHERE! It's fun, though, getting ready! Here are my first ones of the year:

Next Contest Please!

I enjoy challenges and contests so much - being limited to a certain product or color or design really stretches your creativity! The next contest at Paper Wishes is using their 3-D Dazzles - I chose the butterflies - they're GORGEOUS! Voting hasn't started yet - I'll let you know when - but here's my entry. I used two pieces of paper from their Handpainted Papers so I could make the mirror image for the gatefold card, I then added Stickles on the flowers and added two layers of the 3-D Dazzle butterflies. I then used leftover paper and fussy-cut around the flowers and added another butterfly to the inside of the card. I love how it turned out!

New Scrapbook Pages!

I've pretty much done nothing but cards for the last two months trying to get enough inventory for my first craft show. So it was good to get back to some scrapbooking last weekend! I finished several heritage pages and a couple of Judy and Hunter's trip to Washington, DC. It was fun to play with mosaics again! By the way, if you want to learn more about mosaic scrapbooking, go to my link on the right side of my main page.
